Ten years in Canandaigua
I was a massage therapist in Rochester for seven years before I opened Still Water in Canandaigua in 2016. I wanted a spa where a 60-minute massage is 60 minutes on the table, and nobody’s hurried out after.
We’ve grown to four treatment rooms, a couples room and a quiet room. A lot of our guests first come in on a gift card from someone in their family, and then come back on their own.
Dana Whitcomb, owner

With every treatment
- A robe, slippers and a locker
- Tea and water in the quiet room
- A few minutes with your therapist first
- No product pitch at checkout

From our guests
Ninety minutes of deep tissue with Luis after a half marathon. Sore the next day, as he warned, and running again by the weekend.
I bought the massage membership in January. The one month I couldn’t make it, the visit carried over to the next.
My daughter gave me a gift card for a facial. Grace asked about my rosacea before she started, and nothing she used made it flare.
Tessa saw me every month from week 16 until two weeks before my son was born. It was the only hour I was comfortable in the third trimester.
A good Swedish massage with Dana. Evening slots go quickly, so I had to book ten days out.
Couples massage for our tenth anniversary. Two therapists in one room, and nobody rushed us out of the quiet room after.
Before you book
How far ahead should I book?
About a week for evenings and weekends. Weekday afternoons often have room the same day, so call or text to check.
What should I bring?
Nothing. Robes, slippers and lockers are here, and so is a hair dryer.
How long is a treatment?
Massages run 30, 60 or 90 minutes, facials 30 or 60, and a body wrap 75. Add 20 minutes for changing and the quiet room.
What is your cancellation policy?
Change or cancel up to 24 hours ahead at no charge. Inside 24 hours, or for a missed appointment, we charge half the treatment price.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, for an amount or for a named treatment. Buy one online and have it emailed, or pick one up here in a card. They don’t expire.
Should I tip?
Only if you’d like to. Add it to your card at checkout, or leave cash in the envelope in your room.
Can I have a massage while pregnant?
Yes, from the second trimester, with Dana or Tessa. Tell us your due date when you book.
